Parking in Valletta: where to leave the car
Valletta charges most vehicles entering on weekdays and has almost no visitor parking. Where to leave the car instead, and how to reach the city without driving in.

Don't drive in if you can avoid it
Valletta is a small walled peninsula on a grid, much of it pedestrianised or too narrow to be worth attempting. On top of that it operates controlled vehicular access: cameras charge most non-resident vehicles entering during the charging hours on weekdays, automatically.
So the question isn't really where to park in Valletta. It's where to leave the car and walk in.
The park-and-ride at Floriana
The standard answer, and the one locals use. Leave the car at the Floriana park-and-ride just outside the city and take the shuttle or walk in through the gate. It costs a fraction of what circling the grid costs in time and temper, and it sits outside the charged zone.
Allow a few minutes for the shuttle at busy times. The walk in is pleasant enough that plenty of people do it regardless.
Arriving without the car at all
If you're staying in Sliema, the ferry across Marsamxett Harbour is faster than driving and lands you at the bottom of the city. From the Three Cities, the Birgu ferry does the same across the Grand Harbour.
Both are cheap, run frequently, and remove the parking question completely — which is why they're worth planning around rather than treating as a novelty.
If you must drive in
There is some parking at the edge of the city and around the Triton Fountain area, but it's limited and competitive. Residents' bays are exactly that, and traffic wardens are attentive.
Go early, keep expectations low, and be prepared to fall back on Floriana anyway.
