Malta's local car hire — airport desk open 08:00 – 02:00

Booking direct

Why book direct

We own the cars we hire out. Book here and the website, the desk and the fleet are one company — which mostly matters on the day something doesn't go to plan.

What direct actually changes

One party, start to finish

The site you book on, the desk that hands over the keys and the company that owns the car are the same business. Nothing gets lost between a reseller and a supplier, because there isn't one.

The price is the price

From €6 a day with comprehensive insurance and unlimited mileage included. No booking-site margin, and no gap between the quote and what the desk charges.

The excess is published

€800 on Essential, less on Smart, nothing on Zero excess — on the site, before you book, rather than explained to you at a counter with a queue behind you.

Problems get solved, not forwarded

If something goes wrong mid-rental you call the people with the cars. There's no three-way conversation between you, an agent and an operator who've never spoken.

In fairness to the booking sites

Comparison sites are genuinely useful. They show you the range in a market you don't know, and for a destination you've never visited that's worth something. Plenty of people find a company through one and book with it — which is a perfectly sensible way to do it.

What they can't do is answer for the car. The listing is built from a feed, the terms belong to whoever supplies the vehicle, and the excess policy is the operator's rather than the site's. When those three things agree, nobody notices. When they don't, you're the one holding two sets of terms at a counter.

Booking direct removes that gap rather than promising a cheaper headline. Ours happens to be competitive anyway, but the argument stands either way.

Booking direct — common questions

Do you actually own the cars?
Yes. The fleet belongs to our own group of Maltese companies rather than being sourced from a third party when you book. That's why we can tell you what's included, what's held and what happens if something goes wrong, without checking with anyone.
Will I get a better price booking direct?
You get the price we set, without a booking site's margin on top of it — from €6 a day with insurance and unlimited mileage already in it. More usefully, the figure you see is the figure the desk works from, so there's no gap between the two.
What happens if my flight is delayed?
Tell us the flight number when you book and we watch it. Because the booking sits with the people holding the keys rather than with a reseller, there's nobody to relay the message through.
What if I need to change or cancel?
You deal with us. Free cancellation up to 48 hours before pick-up, and nothing charged online in the first place — so a change is a conversation, not a claim against a voucher.

Ready when you are

The island's 7,000 years of history aren't going anywhere — but the July deals are.
