Malta & Gozo · self-drive car hire
Car hire in Marsaskala
A long, quiet bay in the south-east — popular with locals, and far enough from the resort strip to feel like a different holiday.
Getting to Marsaskala from the airport
Roughly 20 to 25 minutes from the airport. Marsaskala is one of the closer bases to Park East, and the drive avoids the harbour traffic that slows the Sliema side.
Driving and parking in Marsaskala
Rarely a problem outside summer weekends, when Maltese families fill the bay. There's on-street parking along much of the front and in the streets behind, and nothing here is as tight as the north-coast resorts.

- Less than most. It's a popular spot with Maltese families, especially at weekends, which gives it a different feel from Buġibba or Paceville.
