Car hire in Buġibba
Buġibba packs a lot into a small grid — and sits close enough to the north coast that a car opens up the best of it.
Getting to Buġibba from the airport
About 35 minutes from the airport, straight up the main road and off towards the bay. Collection is at Park East inside the airport, so you drive out with the luggage already in the boot rather than transferring twice.
Driving and parking in Buġibba
Better than the Sliema side, but the streets are a tight grid and the squares fill in the evening when the restaurants do. There's parking around the edges of the resort and along the front outside peak hours. Nothing here demands a small car, though it doesn't hurt.
What a car unlocks from here
Beaches beyond the rocks
Buġibba's own swimming is off rocks and lidos — the sandy bays at Għadira and Golden Bay are 20 minutes away.
The Gozo ferry
Ċirkewwa is about 20 minutes north, making Gozo a comfortable day rather than an expedition.
Mdina and the centre
Around 25 minutes inland, and a complete change of pace from the resort.
